Support is a questionnaire based survey either on an industry specific, product, scheme, major client, generic SME or household basis.

It offers our clients a low cost way of extending the reach of their risk management programme to a greater proportion of their policyholders.

Risk management data is gathered from a self-assessment questionnaire or a clientīs call centre, website or rating engine.  From this, RiskSTOP provides a customised risk control plan, relevant advice on statutory obligations, plus details of insurer requirements and recommendations.  In addition supporting risk management information and guidelines are given.

Support also includes a free telephone helpline to a Risk Management Advisor for additional information or advice on suppliers of risk management products and services approved by their insurer.

Support has won the Insurance Times Risk Management Award and a Judgesī Commendation in the European Risk Management Awards.

Support in Action: Case Study

RiskSTOP Support helped farmer John Gill take a fresh look at risk management after he switched from producing milk to brewing prize-winning ales. For his broker, Support gives a valuable business edge as it enhances the service he can give his client.

John was keen to minimise any risks to his new business venture but had little time with which to achieve this. As a result, his broker, Harold Woolgar of Harold Woolgar Insurance, suggested he used Supportīs check lists to identify the areas of risk, and then its follow up report to tackle any issues which resulted.

After the checklists were returned to RiskSTOP, John received a full Risk Control Plan detailing the steps he needed to take to protect his business and comply with health and safety regulations. Actions included upgrading his security system and cutting down overhanging branches from the trees lining his entrance road.

"The whole process couldnīt have been easier - it took less than an hour to do and gave me peace of mind that I had considered every area of risk," said John, who runs Bradfield Brewery from his farm near Sheffield in South Yorkshire.

"My broker and I were able to complete the checklists by doing a short tour of my premises. The report I got back contained useful advice and information about statutory requirements. I have always been safety conscious, but this made me more aware than ever before."
